Map features high-voltage transmission lines and power plants categorized by 11 different energy sources by major metropolitan areas.  Each individual map includes the names of large power plants with a net summer capacity greater than 1,200 MW.
Technical notes:
Data for all power plants in the U.S. with at least 1 MW nameplate capacity were grouped into 11 different energy sources.  In cases where a plant uses more than one energy source, the plant was categorized by its predominant energy source.  Some map markers were moved slightly to improve their visibility.
